Wim Hof breathing exercises vs. Buteyko Method Review
The
breathing retraining discussed in this video has been helpful for
patients with COPD, asthma, cancer, diabetes, HIV-AIDS, epilepsy,
heart disease and many other health problems http://www.normalbreathing.com/diseases.php . The Spanish version of this page is here: http://www.respiracionnormal.org/enfermedades/ .
Dr. Artour Rakhimov is the author of 9 Amazon books. He is a breathing retraining teacher and practitioner. Volker Schmitz is Dr. Artour Rakhimov's student, friend and he is also a breathing practitioner teacher. Dr. Artour Rakhimov has lived in Toronto Canada for 20 years. Volker has been teaching Qi Gong and Tai Chi to groups of students for over 15 years. Also, he is currently teaching breathing retraining. This video is an introduction to a variety of topics related to breathing retraining. Among theses topics, Dr. Artour Rakhimov and Volker are going to explain and demystify about how we change our breathing patterns. Also, they discuss how this helps many serious health conditions and more simple problems. They will discuss their own experience and cases when working with students.

Volker
asks Dr. Artour Rakhimov “Can you explain why you got interested in
breathing”? Dr. Rakhimov previously addressed this question in his
videos with Chris Prokop. They are available on Dr. Artour Rakhimov's
YouTube channel. He explained his personal experience. Breathing
retraining helped to solve his health problems that included blood
sugar problems and sinusitis. These are included in the video,
Improve blood glucose control (reactive hyper-hypoglycemia) and
Sinusitis cured with Buteyko breathing retraining. Dr. Artour
Rakhimov discovered that there were breathing retraining teachers all
over the world, but they could not understand Russian. 200 hundred
medical doctors were taught breathing retraining by Dr. Buteyko in
Russia. They accumulated lots of clinical experience and lots of
successful clinical trials for cancer. In the former Soviet Union,
breathing retraining was tried on a very professional level. These
details will also be expanded on in this video series.
Breathing
exercises that are a part of Dr. Artour Rakhimov's courses include
the Buteyko breathing technique for students and practitioner
training. Dr. Buteyko was the leading breathing retraining teacher in
teaching medical doctors in the Soviet Union. Also, he was a
significant physiologist. His method has spanned the globe and can be
found helping people across North America, Europe, Australia and in
other areas. In the early 1960's, Dr. Buteyko held the position as
the Manager of the Respiratory Laboratory. It was created for
classified scientific research for the Soviet Cosmos and the first
outer space missions (including the 1964 flight of Yury Gagarin, the
first man in space).
The
Buteyko Method has been used widely on a range of different diseases.
In the Soviet Union, medical doctors have found it to be useful on
more than 100,000 asthmatics, over 30,000 people with cardiovascular
problems and thousands of patients with other health conditions
(diabetes, cancer, bronchitis, sleep apnea, HIV-AIDS, liver cirrhosis
and more). Dr. Konstantin Buteyko would instruct sick patients to
have an intensive approach of breathing retraining. Depending on
their health condition they would practice up to 2 to 3 hours of
daily breathing exercises.

Artour Rakhimov teaches students on Skype online and during live
