SAMA Interview with Dr. Artour Rakhimov: Defeat Any Lifestyle Diseases with Breathing Retraining

[SAMA] Episode 143: How to Defeat Lifestyle Diseases with Breathing Retraining - Health Therapy that Always Works
The interviewer was John White, https://www.rifetherapies.com/

Topics related to the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 (coronavirus) infection with breathing retraining and the Buteyko Method are also discussed.

In this video interview with John White, we learn that many of our diseases of civilization are first and foremost caused by overbreathing, or hyperventilation. Unfortunately, there is a culturally conditioned belief that hyperventilation causes greater oxygenation of tissues and organs in the body. On the surface, this stands to sense, as it would appear correct that the more oxygen we take into the body, the more oxygenation will occur. In reality, however, by ventilating more air per minute in and out of the body, we release more carbon dioxide from the bloodstream and lungs. The result of this can be extrapolated from the famous Bohr effect. From the Bohr effect we know the following; the higher the concentration of carbon dioxide in the blood, the more readily oxyhemoglobin (a constituent of blood when bound to oxygen) releases its oxygen into cells, tissues, and organs as it passes them. Therefore, if we breathe this carbon dioxide out of the body, there is less available to cause the release of oxygen from oxyhemoglobin and consequently, surrounding cells, tissues and organs don't receive this oxygen and become deoxygenated or hypoxic.

Thanks to the work of Dr. Buteyko however, it has become apparent to many thousands of people that their health can be improved through breathing retraining techniques such as reduced breathing exercises as well as physical exercise (if they are healthy enough to exercise, which most people are, though exercise is not recommended for those with Myalgic encephalopathy / systemic exercise intolerance disorder) all done with nose and diaphragmatic breathing. Diaphragmatic breathing simply means that we breathe into the lower region of our lungs so that our stomach slowly and gently moves forward on the inhale (in the initial stages of breathing retraining when we see and feel the effects of our breathing – as we increase our body's carbon dioxide tolerance, less ventilation of air and therefore breathing is required and the sensations of breathing gradually reduce and become almost or totally imperceptible). The lower part of the ribcage may also move during diaphragmatic breathing, but the shoulders will not rise as we inhale. This type of breathing (nose plus diaphragm) should be our baseline form of breathing as it encourages maximal cellular oxygenation and retention of carbon dioxide in the bloodstream and lungs.

The general health of our body can be determined by a simple breath-holding test called the Control Pause:

After a normal inhalation and exhalation (without restraining or increasing breathing) hold your breath and wait for the first sign of discomfort. This may either be the first urge to breathe or a physical, muscular contraction of the lower respiratory muscles. The stomach will suddenly contract and likely pull inward towards the spine. The time taken before this urge or contraction is called the control pause and is an indicator of your general health. The lower it is, the less cellular oxygenation is occurring within your body. It is possible that the first few times this control pause is taken, that one may unwittingly hold their breath for too long and get a higher result than is genuine. Just remember that it is to be done after a normal inhalation and exhalation and until the first sign of discomfort, no more.

Control pauses of 10 seconds and below indicate moderate to severe health conditions with probable use of medication. Between 10-20 seconds and there are mild to moderate health complications. Between 20-40 seconds and the person is considered healthy by most modern doctors (even though they don't measure the control pause, still they would normally find blood parameters within healthy limits). At around 40 seconds, a person would be considered healthy 100 years ago. And at 60 seconds, they would have what Dr. Buteyko considered the norm.

Two Key Discoveries of Dr. Buteyko (Health Zones and Breathing Method)

The topics discussed in this video include firstly the Buteyko table of health zones and secondly the Buteyko technique itself. Other subtopics include the fact that the health of people can be evaluated by there respiratory parameters, the Buteyko table of health zones, breathing patterns, how to determine someones health state/level by using breathing parameter and the table of health, the medical norm for breathing parameters, health states, medical conditions/ illnesses, and medication, super health and changes that take place at these health levels.

More about the history of the Buteyko method – https://www.normalbreathing.org/buteyko-history/  The second discovery the Buteyko technique itself which allows us to take respiratory parameters back to normal levels which help solve health problems, how the technique is applied in different degrees for example in clinical trials with asthmatics, reduction of medication used by asthmatics, the reduction of symptoms in asthmatics and the method itself which uses breathing exercises, lifestyle changes, physical activity, sleep, diet and much more. Then latterly how Dr. Buteyko was decades ahead in terms of his ideas and health contributions such as the use of spices, the use of vibration and barefoot walking to name a few. Dr. Artour also explains that in his opinion Dr. Buteyko was the greatest medical man in the history of humanity as he made such huge contributions to human health such as the Buteyko table of health zones and the practical tool the Buteyko breathing technique itself. He also states that he has the belief that the method can be developed even further and that he is always looking for methods and techniques that will allow his students and practitioners to achieve better health with less time and less effort with more sophisticated and newer tools. Run Marathon 30 Min Faster With Breathing Retraining

In this video Dr. Artour Rakhimov, author, breathing retraining practitioner and coach of 2 world champions will explain how people can improve their marathon times by up to 30 minutes using breathing retraining. He will explain how this is possible and will discuss various topics that will back up and describe his claim. The topics discussed in this video will be, average marathon times during the last years, his past years working with various athletes at all different levels, how if people can reduce there breathing by 2-3 times they can often see huge benefits in running times and how he is also aware not everyone will see such huge improvements, for example, elite and professional runners who have trained for years at a high level as there have often optimized there performance so much already. If we measure the average persons breathing parameters in correspondence with the Buteyko table of health zones today, we will often see they are around health level 3 and how people 100 years ago often had better parameter on average and how these low levels mean people have low oxygen level in the body on a cellular level. He will dive into breathing parameters, measurements, the importance of nose breathing for health and better results and how and why people use there mouth or nose during physical exercise How breathing slower and less improves body oxygenation, the cp test, how to achieve nose breathing during physical exercise. Dr. Artour also explains how the Buteyko method/breathing retraining was first developed for severely sick people and how if we apply efforts and achieve high health levels and slower breathing in correspondence with the table he has found the therapy will always work in reducing symptoms and need for medication. Lastly, he will also briefly go into topics such as Dr. Buteyko’s golden standard of health, how if people achieve better health levels their oxygen delivery to tissues will be dramatically improved, how if we improve health levels physical exercise will become less of a chore and people will begin to crave it and how it can become totally easy. If you would like to learn more head over to normalbreathing.org and have a look at scientific research and numbers he mentions and If you want to improve your marathon times you can retrain your breathe and see the amazing results for yourself. Biggest Misconception of Buteyko Method: Physical Exercise vs. Breathwork

So what is the illusion? The illusion is although it may seem the Buteyko method is based on just breathing exercises. In reality, if we look at the life of a student, although they may spend a lot of time at the beginning on breathing exercises to make progress once they achieve higher health levels physical exercise becomes the main factor in terms of there progress and long term success years down the line. Therefore the Buteyko method is more about physical exercise than just doing breathing exercises. You're Dependent or Addicted to Coffee due to Your Heavy Breathing (even in Ketosis)

In this video, Dr. Artour Rakhimov will discuss how Coffee/Caffeine dependency and addiction can be successfully treated and cured with breathing retraining, exercise and lifestyle changes which improve body oxygenation. In his introduction, he discusses how he has recently been consuming a lot of media including videos, podcasts and forum posts from different diet movements including ketogenic, zero carb, carnivorous, P.K.D. and their experiences with coffee consumption. He talks about how Zsofia Clemens of Paleomedicina who works with the PKD diet, had previously endorsed some coffee consumption in the past but has now made changes and no longer recommends the beverage as it may lead to possible health problems/consequences due to possible increased permeability of the gut and intolerances or reactions some people may have to plant foods/drinks as coffee is derived from plants. Many normalbreathing.org students have had questions related to coffee consumption and Dr. Artour has had his own observations for years regarding coffee use and it’s relation to breathing retraining and the Buteyko table of health zones. Most modern people currently have a Control pause of around 20 seconds or less and many studies have shown that coffee can help and has very positive effects for this group of people. These effects include improved concentration, short term memory, reaction time. From a breathing retraining viewpoint and his observations, he often noticed that people that start with a CP of 20 seconds often require many cups of coffee a day to function better were able to significantly reduce their consumption or even stop altogether once they achieved a higher CP/level of health in correspondence with the Buteyko table of health zones. He also noticed once they had improved there CP and achieved better levels of health the same person with the same cup of coffee often began to dislike consuming it as it gave them negative side effects such as being jittery, agitated, racing heart, etc. Finally, to conclude the topic of the video, should you use coffee or not? If you have a low cp/ health level coffee may be beneficial for you, if you don’t react negatively to it and if you have or can achieve a high cp/ health level coffee is seldom needed. So if we're able to improve our body oxygen content with time and persistence using breathing retraining and physical exercise, coffee/caffeine addiction can be overcome.

How to Fix Intestinal Permeability (Leaky Gut) PKD vs. Buteyko Method

In this video Dr. Artour Rakhimov will address a question asked by one of his students, the question is- Will following a PKD style diet used by Paleomedicina restore intestinal permeability and is it the only way to fix the problem? and will applying the Buteyko method and achieving the gold standard of 60 seconds for your morning CP (health level 7 in the Buteyko Table of Health zones) also be able to restore intestinal permeability. In terms of professional medical literature there are no published studies by Soviet/Russian doctors that show intestinal permeability can be solved using the Buteyko method so doctors at Paleomedicina are correct that they are the only people to have published information/research that shows intestinal permeability can be solved using a PKD style diet but from experience and observations of these soviet/Russian doctors that used the Buteyko method many of them claim Intestinal Permeability can be solved by achieving 40 seconds for your morning CP (health level 5 in the Buteyko table of health zones) and above. He then talks about how people in the past (around 100 years ago) were not as sick as around 70% of our population in the modern world will suffer from over 200 diseases of civilization as people 100+ years ago on average had around 40 seconds for there morning CP (Health Level 5 in the Buteyko Table of Health Zones). So if the idea put forward by doctors at Paleomedicina is true, that PKD is the key and the only cause of chronic disease then people who consumed foods that were not within PKD in the past would have become sick and developed various health conditions but if we look at the Buteyko table of health zones we know this is not the case as people in the past had around 40 seconds for there morning CP so they were able to have a relatively poor diet while remaining healthy. So to conclude the video once people began eating poorly many thousands of years ago due to the development of agriculture etc. coupled with big lifestyle changes that negatively impacted our breathing parameters within the last 100 or so years in Dr. Artour Rakhimov’s view these 2 factors have ultimately caused the explosion of chronic diseases in our modern world today. Two Buteyko Breathing Methods Developed By Dr. Buteyko

In this video, I will explain the history and development of the Buteyko Method and suggest that we can probably even claim that are 2 or more Buteyko versions that grew out of the original method that was developed by Dr. Buteyko.
Before going into this, I would like to first point out some important facts related to the Buteyko Breathing Technique. First of all, the Buteyko Breathing Retraining Method has a 100% success rate, provided that students are able to retrain their breath. So with slower breathing, the student will improve body oxygenation and, according to the Buteyko Table of Health Zones, increase their level of health. When normal level (7) of health is achieved, there will be no symptoms of disease and medication will not be useful at all.
Now to understand what versions of the Buteyko method we currently find today, we have to look back at history. More about the history of Dr. Buteyko https://www.normalbreathing.org/buteyko-history/ Dr. Buteyko developed his original method in the 1960s and worked only with severely sick people. These people were hospitalized and had a lot of time (no work etc.) to work on their health. Moreover, as their conditions were very serious (with a life expectancy of months or years), they were extremely motivated to work on their breathing. As such, they would achieve much more dramatic improvements in health compared to the average sick person that practices the method today. Dr. Buteyko worked with a team of 200 practitioners and improved the health of 1000s of patients.
Later, in the 80s and 90s, the method was also approved for the treatment of asthma by the minister of health and Dr. Buteyko started to teach the method to people that were not medical professionals.
The method was adjusted for people with asthma and other respiratory problems, as the treatment of asthma alone does not require such drastic changes in the level of health. If a morning CP of 20 is reached, medication for asthma would not be needed anymore and when level 5 or 6 is reached there would be normal lung function and symptoms would be mostly gone.
Therefore, the adjusted and simplified version did not include the drastic and time-consuming protocols necessary to achieve health levels 7 and up. As such, there is a huge difference between the two versions of the Buteyko Method.
For practitioners that wanted to apply the original method, Buteyko required a health level of at least 7. As such many practitioners had levels 10 or 11. However, for treating asthma patients only, such requirements for practitioners are not necessary. As such, most practitioners in the west, do not focus on levels of health above level 5.
The second or simplified version of the Buteyko the method, therefore, does not include for example the necessity to exercise prolonged hours (2 or 3 per day), the necessity to practice breathing exercises 2 hours (or more) per day, to take cold showers and sleep on hard beds, etc.
Now there was an unfortunate event that left many students confused about the effectiveness of the Buteyko Method. A well-known practitioner (Peter Kolb) that was trained by Dr. Buteyko, died of cancer. This should of course not happen to a person that advocates a health method that is supposed to cure cancer.
Although this practitioner was well-known for teaching the Buteyko method, he was only teaching and spreading the second version of the method. The word ‘physical exercise’ was not even included in his writings. Cancer can only be cured with higher levels of health (which requires physical exercise) and this practitioner obviously did not live by the standards of the original Buteyko Method.
Dr. Buteyko himself claimed that for good health, physical exercise is actually more important than breathing exercises. It is only for sick people, that the Buteyko Method would emphasize breathing exercises over physical activity. However, as one’s health improves, physical exercise should increase and the amount of work on breathing exercises should be reduced.
As a final note, I would like to mention something about the way that many practitioners present the Buteyko Method to their students. There are many western practitioners of the Buteyko The method that have learned about the method but who have not reached level 7 (or higher) themselves. As such, I have found that many of them do not speak about the whole spectrum of health (including all the health zones) to their students. As such, students are not informed about the necessary steps to reach true normal health. Furthermore, super health levels (levels 7 to 12) are very frequently neglected by teachers. This is really sad because such levels bring with the many benefits such as extra-sensory perception, the ability to digest many types of foods and dramatically reduced needs for sleep (between 4 and 2 hours).
It should be up to the patient themselves what level of health is ultimately desired and they should not be put in a box by the practitioner by withholding a complete overview of the possibilities.

Does Overbreathing Cause Respiratory Alkalosis or High Blood pH (Buteyko Method)?

Hyperventilation causes deviations in blood PH. Hyperventilation reduces carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide is needed to keep blood PH acid. When carbon dioxide levels in the blood are reduced, the blood becomes more alkaline. More about hyperventilation and blood ph

If we are talking about health zones, ordinary people would be situated around health zone 3 (20Cp). As such, normal people breath too much, which causes carbon dioxide to be reduced in the blood. This makes the blood more alkaline (called respiratory alkalosis).

However, when we measure blood PH in people, we would not be able to see that the blood is actually alkaline. This is because our blood PH is tightly managed within a very narrow range from 7.35 to 7.45. So when the breath changes, the blood is still kept within this very narrow range.

So why did Dr. Buteyko talk about alkaline blood PH as a result of overbreathing?

Dr. Buteyko worked mainly with very sick patients. And when people are severely sick (hospitalized or even in emergency rooms with acute attacks etc.), they actually commonly would have respiratory alkalosis (no medical professional is going to argue with that).

But when we talk about ordinary people who chronically hyperventilate (asthma or COPD patients even), this is actually not true. When we would ask a general practitioner who deals with normal (sick) people, they would tell you that blood PH is always in the normal range (even though these patients chronically hyperventilate). More about the causes of hyperventilation.

So when people have these relatively mild forms of hyperventilation, they would have normal blood PH. The statement then that hyperventilation causes respiratory alkalosis, is not exactly correct. This only relates to severe hyperventilation.

So when do people actually have respiratory alkalosis? The barrier would be around 10 CP and below. So when people go to an emergency room, they commonly would breathe around 25-30 Liters per minute. This correlates to around 5 CP. This is a huge difference as ordinary people breath around 12 Liters per minute and healthy people (according to Buteyko standards) breath only 6 Liters.

What is the Buteyko breathing Method?

The Buteyko Breathing Method has to do with chronic hyperventilation which is affecting 95% or more of our society. Most people, however, do not realize that there are 2 basic versions. More about the Buteyko method: https://www.normalbreathing.org/buteyko-method/ .
The original version (as thought by Dr. Buteyko himself) includes the Buteyko Table of Health Zones. He used it to define a person’s health and included many methods in order to heal his patients.
One can measure the amount of air we breathe in liters per minute and compare results between those that are healthy and those that are sick. The medical norm would be between 5-6 liters per minute (+-12 breaths per minute), which corresponds to around 40 seconds for the breath holding time test.
Buteyko himself, however, concluded that the health norm should be around 60CP. This would be 4 liters of ventilation (8 breaths per minute). He concluded that this would be normal health but if we look at society today, only 1% of the population would reach his standard.
The second version (most popular in the west) is simply only the Buteyko Breathing exercise that, of course, is also included in the original version. So when most people talk about the Buteyko Method, they usually refer to his breathing exercise only. It is common to see that practitioners and coaches only apply the second version and do not include complete lifestyle changes and know or talk about the Buteyko Table of Health zones.
As such, the second version will not allow one to reach Buteyko’s true norm of health. It is simply used to treat asthma and other respiratory diseases and reduce/eliminate medication.
Furthermore, many practitioners, myself included, combine the original method with other alternative healing methods in order to make the protocol more effective. Misha Sakharoff, for example, specializes in healing cancer by combining a variety of methods (including Buteyko).
As you can see, there is a big difference between the practitioner’s application of the method. The debate continues between practitioners about whether the method should be considered dynamic and changing over time or be considered static and only include the tools given by Dr. Buteyko himself.
You can find the overview of the Buteyko method here: Buteyko Method
From my experience, I can conclude that, even when following the complete original version of the Buteyko method, certain conditions cannot be cured. Mainly in the field of nutrition, there has been much development. Certain (strict) dietary protocols have proven very successful in combination with the Buteyko Method. For example, eliminating plant foods can be necessary for treating auto-immune diseases. In future videos, I will discuss the benefits of the carnivore or PKD (Paleomedicina) diet in combination with breathing retraining.
Also, Buteyko himself had a negative attitude towards breathing devices. However, as time has progressed, many practitioners have found that certain devices proof very beneficial for breathing retraining (especially for the lower health zone students).
Furthermore, a static approach (as opposed to dynamic) of the Buteyko method, does not take into account lifestyle changes over long periods of time. One can assume that after 50 years or even more, people have different lifestyles and different factors need to be included in order to maintain health. Therefore, a dynamic application of the Buteyko Methods, from my perspective, seems to be the only way to go into the future. The same can be seen in the application of yoga for health and mind. The efficacy of the yoga protocols in the ancient transcripts (some more than 3000 years old) in today’s society is much lower compared to ancient times. Things change and we must adapt our protocols along the way. Even in the last 100 years, things have changed dramatically. Many seemingly insignificant changes, such as the introduction of soft chairs and couches, have a negative effect on our health. Other examples of relatively recent developments that have affected our health negatively are amalgam mercury fillings (in the tooth) or the fact that we started wearing rubber shoes and walk on artificial floors (which keep us electrically insulated from the earth).
Moreover, numeral studies have concluded that the development of agriculture (the introduction of rice, wheat, and grains in the diet ) is a huge cause for many of our current health problems. Later on, the use of table sugar coupled with the overall increase of carbohydrates in the diet, as well as the rise of processed foods and even later the increase of vegetable oils has damaged our health even more. It is apparent that as humankind evolves, we should also keep changing the way we treat health. Therefore, at normalbreathing we keep developing the Buteyko Method to ensure our patients and students progress with their level of health most effectively according to the Buteyko Table of Health Zones.

How to Define Health Levels Using Buteyko Table of Health Zones

Dr. Artour Rakhimov talks about the development of the Buteyko Health Levels as rows of the Buteyko Table of Health Zones. It tells the details such as the year in which the first Buteyko Table was developed and when it was updated most recently with Health Levels.

Dr. Artour Rakhimov helps people to get an understanding of how were the Buteyko health levels developed. It also gives a brief description of the Buteyko Health Levels - https://www.normalbreathing.com/blog/buteyko-health-levels/ . The duration of the video is 10 minutes in total.

The advantages of using the Buteyko Health Levels have been discussed in this video for the students and doctors who wish to follow it or use these health levels for their own understanding. The Buteyko Table of Health Zones was initially created in the 1960s by doctor Buteyko, which was patented in the 1990s by the Russian Intellectual Property Agency and was ultimately published in the year 2001. Dr. Artour Rakhimov further explains that the Table was created in order to place different people in various health zones in accordance with their health levels based on the body oxygen test which is also known as the Buteyko CP (control pause) test.

Dr. Artour Rakhimov also shows the different zones and levels of health in accordance with the Table created by doctor Buteyko - https://www.normalbreathing.com/index-buteyko-table-of-health-zones.php . The original Table or the initial form of the table had levels in the negative (with the minus) numbers as well.  However, with time there were several changes which were made in this Table and after all these changes the latest Table which is being used by all the people who believe in these Health Zones is described by in-depth in the video.

The super Health Levels which are 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are also discussed. While it is shown that number 7 or Health Level 7 indicates that health is normal and that there is no need for any kind of medication. However, if the Health Level is said to be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 it is said that the person`s health is not normal and that there can be a requirement of some medication or treatment. Health Level 3 and Health Level 4 (over 90% of modern people) indicate poor health with symptoms, long sleep, low energy, and other health challenges.

Dr. Artour Rakhimov also explains some of the important historical facts about the Buteyko Table. It is mentioned that at the time when these Health Zones were first introduced by doctor Buteyko, there were a variety of Health Levels actually present, therefore, there for people who came under the super Health Levels such as 8 ,9, 10 , 11, and 12 and similarly, there were people who had quite poor health and had to be rated down in the negative side of the original Table which existed at that time.

Dr. Artour Rakhimov further explains that many students who worked on their health had to use negative numbers to describe their progress from poor to better health. These students were given a free hand by the doctor and they were encouraged to provide testimonials. These students were asked to post their results so others could benefit from it.

Dr. Konstantin Buteyko would instruct sick patients to have an intensive approach of breathing retraining. Depending on their health condition they would practice up to 2 to 3 hours of daily breathing exercises.

Dr Artour Rakhimov Interview: How To Breathe For Health (Buteyko Method)

Dr. Artour Rakhimov Interview: How To Breathe For Health (Buteyko Method)

This is Dr. Artour Rakhimov's Interview for Extreme Health Radio extremehealthradio.com. The title of this show was “How To Breathe For Health: Buteyko Method”.

During last 100 years, humans experienced large changes in the way they breathe. Modern people breathe nearly 2-3 times more air than people living at the beginning of the 20th century. Dozens of clinical studies showed that people with chronic diseases breathe even heavier. All these basic facts related to breathing can be found on the Homepage of http://www.normalbreathing.com/.

What are the effects of over-breathing or breathing too much air (known as hyperventilation)? Breathing more air at rest decreases CO2 levels in the lungs and body cells. As a result, arteries and arterioles constrict causing decreased oxygen transport for tissues of the body.

These physiological facts were known to Dr. Buteyko who developed the Buteyko breathing technique to treat chronic diseases. He trained over 150 medical professionals to apply this natural healing therapy on nearly half million of people in the USSR and, later, Russia.

The Buteyko technique is popular for asthma and other respiratory conditions, as well as infections. See also our chest infections remedy. But other conditions, even cancer and diabetes can be addressed as well.

Dr. Artour Rakhimov created and developed world's largest website devoted to breathing retraining. About 500 web pages of this site provides analysis and practical tools related to lifestyle factors and how they interact and influence our breathing. This relates to physical exercise, sleep, diet and many other factors of life.

Meditation and mindfulness are also parts of these breathing exercises.

Buteyko Practitioner Training Testimonial (by Misha Sakharoff)

Misha Sakharoff Testimonial about His Buteyko Practitioner Training and Courses with Dr. Artour Rakhimov

This is a video testimonial from  a Buteyko breathing teacher and educator Misha Sakharoff (http://sakharoff.com/), who lives near Copenhagen, Denmark. Misha Sakharoff tells us about his experiencec about his breathing Buteyko trainer Dr. Artour Rakhimov (http://www.normalbreathing.com/)

Misha Sakharoff says that he got a lot of inspiration from Artour Rakhimov and discovered new ideas and techniques related to exercise, sleep, diet, and other lifestyle factors. All these factors help to slow down breathing at rest and increase body oxygen levels to higher numbers. This causes a profound effect on easing or disappearance of symptoms and chronic diseases.

Slower breathing and better body oxygenation is a great natural home remedy that helps people with blocked or stuffy nose, chronic cough (even at night), insomnia, constipation, and many other common symptoms. However, the main power of breathing retraining (permanent changes in automatic breathing patterns) relates to its ability to cure or treat chronic diseases. Breathing exercises are similar to ancient meditation mindfulness methods.

Misha Sakharoff currently specializes on application of breathing retraining to cancer (oncology) and other serious health problems while cooperating with medical doctors and health specialists.
